 What is Your “Fashion Voice?”

Let’s settle this debate once and for all. What is the difference between Style and Fashion? Who determines both?

Experts say, “Fashion is a way of dressing that is prominent and valued socially because of its innovativeness, novelty, and cultural relevance. Style is the distinctive way of dressing that leverages the wearer’s style, all while exuding self-confidence and still being generally appealing to others.”

Style is as unique as the individual who owns it. Fashion is the interpretation of the designer’s vision.

No one determines your style but you. We all take inspiration from our culture, personality, or mood that day.

I wear Coach bag styles and colors for the visual and functional aesthetics of carrying a handbag with all my outfits, professional, casual, or after five.

From being a Manolo Blahnik admirer, I studied traditional and established styles and brands.

Like, Karl Lagerfeld, Coco Chanel, Hubert de Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Donna Karan, & Vera Wang.

I also support Urban artists such as Dur Doux, Frederick Anderson, & Sergio Hudson, to name a few!

I have always believed in styles that flatter the body type. Hide the imperfections and highlight the parts that fit your comfort level.

If you want to know a secret, the best part about high school and college for me was picking out the outfits!

I followed the same pattern when I entered the workforce. Fashion has always been a passion and always a part of my voice!

It should make you feel like you. It’s your voice without saying a word. Whether you work remotely and your attire consists of pajamas or are a professional working a hybrid role, whatever you wear is a personal expression of your personality and mood.

While looks change, evolve, and recycle, so do those who create, model, and foster the looks we buy and wear.

Fashion is the map, and we decide where we go!

Women used to wear long dresses, shorter dresses, then the famous mini-skirt, and then we finally started wearing pants.

I bet you didn’t know who designed the first pair of pants and the year women started wearing them.

Fashion experts say, “Elizabeth Smith Miller designed an early version of pants-like clothing for women in 1851. It consisted of a skirt extending below the knees and loose “Turkish” trousers that gathered at the ankles worn with a short jacket on top.”

I am a true fan of anything slimming, from jeans to professional-style pants with your favorite pair of heels.

No matter the occasion, your body type, or your favorite look, it’s your voice and style regardless of who designed the Fashion!

They design we wear it. We give it the life and personality the world sees one look at a time!

Take one more look in the mirror before heading out the door. What is your voice saying today? Professional, presentation, vacation, or stay-cation. Regardless, say it out loud!

Your Fashion Voice is yours. Be proud!
